The Hospital, Not the Highlight Reel

The Hospital, Not the Highlight Reel

šŸ”„ The Hospital, Not the Highlight Reel

Saved by grace, not by pretending we’re perfect

There’s something I’ve wrestled with for a long time.

Not with God… but with church.

Because I’ve seen too many people walk in hurting… and walk out feeling worse.

Not healed.
Not seen.
Judged.

And some of them never come back.

šŸ’Æ Let’s start with truth

The Bible doesn’t say ā€œmost people sin.ā€

It says:

ā€œFor all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.ā€Ā

Not some.
Not just the obvious ones.
All of us.

That includes:

  • the guy battling addiction
  • the person hiding porn
  • the one full of pride
  • the one holding unforgiveness
  • the one sitting in the front row every Sunday

Every single one of us has missed the mark.

āš–ļø Sin isn’t a ranking system

We like to categorize sin.

We say:

  • ā€œThat’s badā€¦ā€
  • ā€œBut at least I’m not doing thatā€¦ā€

But scripture hits different.

Even one sin separates us from God.Ā

You could fall short by an inch or a mile—
you still fall.

That means:

  • Your ā€œprivateā€ sins matter
  • Your ā€œrespectableā€ sins matter
  • That bitterness you’ve justified for years… it matters

Not because God is waiting to punish you…

But because anything less than perfect still separates us from Him.

šŸ™Œ And that’s exactly why grace matters

If we’re all sinners…

Then none of us earn our way in.

That’s where everything changes.

ā€œFor it is by grace you have been saved, through faith… it is the gift of God—not by works.ā€Ā

You don’t clean yourself up to come to Jesus.

You come to Jesus… and He transforms you.

šŸ„ The Church was never meant to be perfect people

This is where I struggle with religion sometimes.

Because too many churches feel like a museum:

  • polished people
  • filtered lives
  • ā€œact right or don’t belongā€

But that’s not what Jesus built.

Jesus said:

the sick need a doctor, not the healthy.Ā

The church is supposed to be a hospital.

For:

  • the broken
  • the addicted
  • the angry
  • the confused
  • the ones who don’t have it together

Which means…

šŸ‘‰ If you walked into a church and felt judged, not loved…
šŸ‘‰ If you felt like you had to fix yourself before you could belong…

That wasn’t Jesus.

āš ļø Here’s the danger

When churches only preach sin…

People either:

  • feel crushed… or
  • fake it

And neither one leads to freedom.

Yes—sin is real.

Yes—it separates us.

But if we stop there… we miss the whole point.

āœļø The point is Jesus

Sin tells you:

ā€œYou’re not good enough.ā€

Grace says:

ā€œYou never were—but Jesus is.ā€

You’re not saved because:

  • you go to church
  • you try harder
  • you finally ā€œfix yourselfā€

You’re saved because:

šŸ‘‰ You believe in Jesus.
šŸ‘‰ You trust what He did for you.

Plain and simple.

🧠 Real talk

If ALL sin separates us…

Then no one gets to sit higher than anyone else.

That should change everything about how we treat people.

  • No more looking down
  • No more drawing lines
  • No more ā€œthose peopleā€

Because we’re all the same without Jesus.

šŸ”„ This is the culture I want to build

Not just in church…

But in everything I do—
including Eternal Forge.

A place where:

  • real people can show up
  • struggle is admitted, not hidden
  • grace is louder than shame
  • and progress > pretending

Because growth doesn’t start with pretending you’re strong…

It starts with admitting you’re not.

šŸ™Œ If you’ve been burned by church… hear this

You are not disqualified.

You are not too far gone.

You are not the ā€œworst one in the room.ā€

You’re exactly who Jesus came for.

āœ… Bottom line

We all fall short.

Every one of us.

But the good news?

You don’t have to earn your way back.

šŸ‘‰ You’re saved by grace.
šŸ‘‰ Through faith.
šŸ‘‰ In Jesus.

And that changes everything.

šŸ™ Your Next Step

If you’ve made it this far, maybe something in this hit you.

Maybe you’ve been carrying guilt.
Maybe you’ve felt like you had to clean yourself up before coming to God.
Maybe you’ve been hurt by church and don’t know where to start again.

Let me make it simple:

šŸ‘‰ You don’t fix yourself first.
šŸ‘‰ You come as you are.

The Bible says:

ā€œFor all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.ā€
ā€œFor it is by grace you have been saved, through faith… it is the gift of God.ā€Ā

That means this isn’t about earning it.

It’s about believing.

āœļø If you’re ready, you can pray this right now

This isn’t a magic formula.
It’s just a starting place—a real conversation between you and God.

Pray this from your heart:

Jesus, I know I’ve sinned and fallen short.
I know I can’t make myself right on my own.

I believe You died for me and rose again.
I believe You paid the price for my sin.

I turn from my old life and I give my life to You.
I accept You as my Lord and my Savior.

Fill me with Your Holy Spirit.
Change my heart. Lead my life.

Help me walk with You from this day forward.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

šŸ”„ What now?

If you just prayed that, that’s not the finish line.

That’s the starting line.

  • You won’t be perfect overnight
  • You will still struggle
  • But you won’t be doing it alone anymore

And that’s where everything changes.

šŸ„ Final reminder

You don’t have to be ā€œgood enoughā€ to come to God.

You just have to come.

This is a hospital.
Not a highlight reel.

And there’s a place for you here.
